YWAM Waves Sunshine Coast

We are so excited to be able to offer the Waves DTS here on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Australia.  This September our Waves DTS will be divided into separate tracks that will be running throughout the DTS, both through the lecture and outreach phases.  These tracks are an opportunity to outwork an area of passion or calling for your life, or to try something brand new, whilst being a part of one of our exceptional Discipleship Training Schools.

Our heart is that these tracks will not just be seen as a marketing ploy, but a strategic, intentional step to see long term ministries pioneered in Australia and the nations.  Whether you have thought long term about the calling God has on your life, or whether the track you are part of is something that just really jumped out to you, we hope and pray that this DTS will be the beginning of a life-long pursuit of God, an opportunity to be raised and released into the calling He has on your life, and a spring board for YOU to be a part of seeing His Kingdom advancing to every sphere of society and to every nation and people group on the planet.

How will it look during the DTS lecture phase?

Firstly it important to note that you will still be a part of the main Waves DTS and this will always be the primary focus of the school and the weekly schedule.  However with the tracks it will additionally give you the opportunity to journey particularly closely with some like-minded people that have similar passions to you.

Each track will be led by one of our awesome DTS staff that already has a particular passion for the track and to see this sphere impacted.  In addition to the normal DTS schedule, every week you will have certain times that will be specifically focused on your track and will help grow your passions, giftings and knowledge of the many unique aspects that make up your track.  This will include teaching from speakers already living out missions in the area that your track is focused on, activities, intercession and prayer times, and most importantly community outreach.  This community outreach element will help DTS overall lead to a change in lifestyle and not just be an event in your life, and it means that outreach really begins from day one where each of you will be involved in reaching out into the local community in the area that your track is focused on.

How will it look during the DTS outreach phase?

The students that are a part of these tracks will form into outreach teams that will go out and see God’s Kingdom advance. with a particular focus on reaching out within the area of the track chosen.  The staff and leaders of the DTS will prayerfully chose nations to do outreach in that will allow this to be outworked in a major way.

So what are the tracks for this DTS?

The tracks that we have chosen are ‘Reach the Unreached’, ‘Justice and Mercy’, ‘Youth Ministries’ and ‘Sport’.  We believe that these cover a broad range of interests, passions and spheres whilst also falling in line with the individual passions of the DTS staff that will be involved in leading out in these tracks.

How do I choose a track?

Every student on the school will take part in one of the above tracks and the choice of which track you are a part of is really down to you (well God and you!).  We would encourage you to start hearing from God and ask the question to Him about which is the right fit for you.  Think about which track is in line with your calling and giftings, but most of all think about which track gets you excited and sets your heart on fire.  It doesn’t matter if this is all very new to you, there isn’t a wrong choice here, just different pathways that God is inviting you to choose from.  Once you have made a choice fill in the DTS student application and indicate on the application which track you would like to be a part of.  If you are keen on more than one then indicate your preferences between them all and we will pray over which track we think is right at the same time as we pray over your application.”
